Richard joined the Firm March 2011 and is a Senior Attorney in the Commercial & Special Assets Department in the corporate office located in Overland Park, KS. He is currently admitted to practice law in the states of Missouri and Kansas and before the bankruptcy courts for the Western District of Missouri, the District of Kansas, the District of Nebraska and the Southern District of Iowa. Richard obtained his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Emory in 1984. He obtained his law degree from the University of Texas - Austin in 1988.
Richard represents the interests of lenders as they relate to all chapters of personal and commercial bankruptcy with a special emphasis on Chapter 11 practice and complex litigation. Additional practice areas include commercial and multifamily foreclosure and evictions, commercial loan defaults and workouts, the enforcement of security interests in and recovery of automobiles and special assets, UCC Article 9 transactions, fraud and lender liability issues, and, general collection matters. Since 1988, Richard has had extensive experience represented numerous creditors as both plaintiff and defendant throughout the litigation process, on a multi-state basis, up to and including trial.
